ARIZONA DERBY DAMES DOUBLE HEADER

PUMP UP THE JAM – THE GAMES OF THE YEAR!

Schoolyard Scrappers vs. Brutal Beauties and Coffin Draggers vs. Runaway Brides

Saturday May 10th at Castle Sports Club

The Arizona Derby Dames 2008 double-header season continues with what's being considered the games of the year! Four games into The Dames' 2008 season, crowds are consistently packing The Castle Sports Club for bouts filled with dynamic sports entertainment for the entire family. It sounds cliché, but The Arizona Derby Dames are genuinely drawing crowds from age 8 to 80 as multiple generations come to cheer on their favorite roller derby teams and players. Next up: The Schoolyard Scrappers vs. The Brutal Beauties and The Coffin Draggers vs. The Runaway Brides with both bouts matching up fierce rivals.

First up it's The Schoolyard Scrappers who will take on their biggest rivals of the 2007 Arizona Derby Dames season. The Brutal Beauties may be the 2007 season champions, but The Schoolyard Scrappers gave the Beauties a run for their money in the two games in which they faced each other in 2007 that shown the closest point spreads in Arizona Derby Dames history. With fierce determination the Scrappers will want to continue their undefeated 2008 season against the toughest team to beat. The Brutal Beauties have remained undefeated for two full seasons and for the 2008 season so far, including a sweep of The Dames 2008 season kick off mini tournament in which all five teams skated in a single elimination tournament, and they have no intention of giving up that extraordinary record.

Then, The Coffin Draggers will face The Runaway Brides, in their first bout against Arizona Derby Dames' newest team. The Runaway Brides are captained by Captain Ann Thrash and Co-Captain Dirty Martini, both formerly of The Coffin Draggers. Former Coffin Draggers Dee Tox and Razen Hell also play against their 2007 team. The Coffin Draggers are led by new captains for the 2008 season, veteran team members Dolly de Los Muertos and Rae Jer. With the addition of new team members for the 2008 season, including a jammer to be reckoned with, Honey B. Heartless as well as veteran proven jammer Dr. Mary Lu Botomy, The Coffin Draggers won't be an easy win for The Brides in this grudge match.
